Inode currently offers consultancy and remote system administration as its primary services.
Remote Sysadmin
Inode will connect to your network using appropriate encryption & authentication (usually via ssh or OpenVPN) and maintain the operational state of your machines to your requirements. At the simplest this means applying OS updates in a timely fashion, and checking for problems in system logfiles. At the most complex, we can set up fully-automated system and network health checks with a customer-accessible trouble ticketing system, and integrate with your existing change control procedures.
While Inode is most at home on a Debian or Ubuntu machine, any OS at all will be considered. This includes Microsoft Windows, OS X, Solaris, FreeBSD and the full range of Linux distributions.
Consultancy
Jim Cheetham is directly available for consultancy, on a range of topics from business systems analysis to the eternal debate of “vi vs. emacs“.
Critical Situation Response
Inode can and will pull out all the stops and help you through pretty much any business critical system failure. Sometimes all you need is someone on the phone who can help you to identify the root causes, lead you through triage options and help you understand the actual cost to the business rather than the feared cost. Sometimes you need someone to log on to a machine and start wielding a root prompt like Toshiro Mifune with a katana to get back in control again.
